Our Story

In 2006, Acacia Medical Mission was established as a nonprofit committed to providing free faith-based healthcare services and wellness education to those in need residing in Comal and neighboring counties. Since the clinic opened in 2011, Acacia continues to be a resource for those who don't have access to affordable healthcare. Our providers conduct outreach in the community to treat the unhoused through programs such as Wellness On Wheels (WOW clinic), First Footing, and HOME Team. The clinic partners and is supported by United Way of Comal County, funders, local churches, individual residents, nurse practitioners, physicians, and other volunteers.

Clinic Staff

Cassie Carter

Cassie transitioned from 18 years as a stay-at-home parent to serving in the public school systems in both Comal and Bexar counties. She was motivated by her husband's surrender to ministry and after her 8-year tenure there she realized that she wanted to make a more impactful contribution to her community. Now at AMM, Cassie's strong faith in God is guiding her as she manages the day-to-day operations, passionately furthering the organization's mission to provide compassionate, free healthcare services and wellness education in Comal and neighboring counties. Her role at AMM is not just a professional position but a fulfillment of her desire to serve and make a tangible difference in the lives of others.

Rachel Vance

Executive Assistant

Rachel has always had a niche of being able to form a connection with the people around her with a commitment to helping those in need, whenever possible. Her and her husband decided to plant their roots in Bulverde with their 2 handsome young boys right as COVID hit in 2020, after being born and raised in SETX for the previous 35 years. Rachel knows firsthand what it's like to feel "alone" when you need help the most but can't afford the help you need. She is a firm believer in everything happens for a reason and embodies "while we may not be your permanent home, we will welcome you with open arms to help you get there."
