Our Story

At the heart of our work is a simple belief: everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, no matter their circumstances. We provide compassionate, high-quality primary medical care, dental services, and medical education to individuals and families who might otherwise go without. By offering these services at little or no cost, we remove barriers to care and create healthier, stronger communities. Our commitment is not only to treat illness, but also to educate, empower, and inspire hope for a better future.

Rachel Magana

Interim Clinic Operations & Board Liaison

Rachel has a unique gift for connecting with people and a deep commitment to helping those in need whenever possible. Born and raised in Southeast Texas, she and her husband chose to plant their roots in Bulverde in 2020, right as COVID-19 changed the world, raising their two young sons in the community they now call home.

Her personal experiences give her a special understanding of what it feels like to be “alone” when help is out of reach or unaffordable. That empathy drives her dedication to ensuring others don’t feel the same way. A firm believer that everything happens for a reason, Rachel embodies the spirit of Acacia’s commitment: “While we may not be your permanent medical home, we will welcome you with open arms to help you get there.”

Jonathan Tellez

Bilingual Medical Assistant

Jonathan’s journey in healthcare began at a young age, assisting his mother at the clinic and interpreting during patient visits. Inspired by these experiences, he completed his medical assistant certification and now serves part-time as a bilingual medical assistant. Jonathan has become an essential support to our volunteer providers while continuing his education and pursuing a future career in medicine.
